Day to Day Itinerary

  • Day 1-2 Delhi Travel by the city's modern metro system to Old Delhi to see India's largest mosque and explore timeless bazaars and scented spice markets.


  • Day 3-4 Jaipur Visit Jaipur and experience the irresistible charms of the 'Pink City'. Climb to the hilltop Amber Fort before visiting magical Hawa Mahal, or 'Palace of the Winds'. Enjoy some free time to admire the Jaipur's bustling bazaars and perhaps explore the impressive City Palace. End the day with an optional Bollywood blockbuster experience.


  • Day 5 Agra See why the gleaming Taj Mahal is often referred to as 'a teardrop on the face of eternity', and watch as the building's exquisite marble inlay produces a mesmerising shimmer effect. Learn the tragic story behind the Taj’s construction before visiting the enormous Red Fort, which looms over the city from high and looks over the Yamuna River.


  • Day 6-7 Orchha Nestled on the banks of the emerald Betwa River, charming Orchha is the perfect spot to learn the art of Indian cooking at a culinary class. Take a tour of the town's temples and palaces, where the superb architecture is a legacy of raja rule. Stop by a sustainable papermaking plant and see how local women use recycled clothing and wood pulp to create products.


  • Day 8 Khajuraho Travel to the remote plains of central India and be captivated by Khajuraho temples. Admire carvings that depict ancient Hindu legends and the mysterious Kama Sutra. In the evening, perhaps take the opportunity to enjoy a traditional dance performance or a home-cooked vegetarian meal.


  • Day 9-10 Varanasi One of India's most sacred cities, Varanasi is awash with temples and shrines. Witness devotions of faith along the banks of the Ganges and experience the magic of a sunset candle flower ceremony.


  • Day 11 Delhi Haggle with locals in Varanasi's colourful bazaars before a flight back to the capital. Back in Delhi, perhaps unwind in the grounds surrounding Humayun's Tomb or head to bustling Connaught Place for some shopping.


  • Day 12-13 Kathmandu Welcome to the capital of Nepal, Kathmandu. Head to Durbar Square to admire its delightful architecture and observe city life.


  • Day 14-15 Pokhara Catch an early flight to Pokhara – Nepal's lively trekking town that is nestled beside a placid lake and backed by the soaring Annapurna Range. Relax on a boat ride across the lake for excellent views of the mountains. Stare up at the peaks and watch the mountain tops glisten with silky white snow. Visit the Peace Pagoda and the fascinating International Mountain Museum. The following day is a free day to partake in whatever activities take your fancy.


  • Day 16-17 Bandipur Rise early for a morning drive to the traditional Nepalese settlement of Bandipur. Still housing traditional Newari homes with carved wooden windows and slate roofs, this delightful mountain town has somehow managed to withstand the effects of tourist development. Take in the views and explore this incredible settlement while witnessing the workings of a traditional Newari village.


  • Day 18-19 Chitwan National Park Head to Chitwan National Park and get to know the wildlife of the region. Search for Indian rhinos, deer and exotic birdlife in the park and, if you're lucky, maybe spot a tiger. Afterwards, watch a Tharu dance troupe perform a cultural program before a tasty dinner. The following morning, hit the Rapti River in a canoe to see marsh mugger crocodiles before jumping into a jeep and exploring a nearby village.


  • Day 20 Bhaktapur Appreciate the peaceful simplicity of Bhaktapur while walking down narrow streets from square to square or along cobblestone laneways to watch local traditions come alive.


  • Day 21-22 Kathmandu After breakfast, return to Kathmandu for a final team dinner and to celebrate this adventure through India and Nepal.
