Nepal's gender inequality in education remains significant despite substantial progress since 1990. Rural girls continue to face higher dropout rates and more restricted access to secondary and tertiary education than their male counterparts in many of Nepal's more remote and traditional communities. Several excellent organisations in Nepal work specifically on girls' education and provide transparent, accountable use of external funding.
Our Nepal Trip for Her Education programme combines a Nepal cultural and natural holiday with a structured contribution to organisations supporting girls' education in Nepal. Travellers visit project schools and communities, meet the girls whose education is supported and understand directly how the contribution is used. The travel programme covers the standard Nepal highlights – Kathmandu heritage, Chitwan wildlife and Pokhara mountain scenery – with a full day dedicated to school community visits providing genuine context for the contribution being made. We partner with established, verified organisations with clear accountability for donor funds; we never create our own education programmes but connect travellers with organisations that have proven track records. Contact us for current partner organisations and the specific communities we work with.
