The Nepal–Tibet Motorbike Tour is a 15-day motorcycle adventure from Kathmandu to Lhasa via the Friendship Highway – one of Asia's great road journeys, crossing from the subtropical Kathmandu Valley through the Himalayan range to the vast Tibetan plateau at 4,000m in a journey that covers some of the most extraordinary road scenery anywhere in the world.
The route: Kathmandu, Dhulikhel (Kathmandu Valley rim viewpoint), the Nepal-Tibet border crossing at Gyirong (4,000m), Saga, Lake Mansarovar (optional excursion for the sacred Tibetan lake), Shigatse (Tashilhunpo Monastery), Gyantse (Kumbum Stupa), Yamdrok Lake circuit, Lhasa (3–4 nights – Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Barkhor). Return by air from Lhasa to Kathmandu or continue to other destinations. Tibet requires Chinese group visa and Tibet Tourism Bureau permit, arranged in advance and included in our package.
