Crossing all three high passes of the Everest region – Renjo La (5,360m), Cho La (5,420m) and Kongma La (5,535m) – in a single circuit is one of Nepal's most acclaimed trekking achievements. The route visits Everest Base Camp, Kala Patthar, the Gokyo Lakes and Gokyo Ri, connecting them via high-pass crossings that deliver extraordinary panoramas of the Khumbu's most spectacular mountain terrain. Each pass offers a different character: Renjo La with its Gokyo Lakes view; Cho La with its short glacier crossing; Kongma La with its raw rocky approach from Dingboche.
The three-pass circuit is demanding – five days above 5,000m, extended sections of glacial terrain, and early morning starts required on pass days to beat afternoon weather. It requires previous high-altitude experience and strong physical fitness. The reward is a level of Khumbu engagement that the standard EBC route simply cannot match. For the standard Everest Base Camp trek, see our EBC Trek. Includes: guide, porter, all meals, teahouse accommodation, all Khumbu permits, domestic flights Kathmandu–Lukla–Kathmandu. Best season: October–November and April–May. Previous high-altitude experience essential.
