The Annapurna Base Camp helicopter tour delivers one of Nepal's most dramatic mountain experiences in a single morning from Pokhara or Kathmandu. The flight into the Annapurna Sanctuary – a high glacial basin at 4,130m completely enclosed by eight peaks over 7,000m – provides views of Annapurna I (8,091m), Annapurna South (7,219m), Machhapuchhre (6,993m), Hiunchuli (6,441m) and Gangapurna (7,454m) that trekkers reach only after 10–11 days of walking. For travellers with limited time or who cannot undertake the physical demands of the trek, the helicopter option delivers the full visual experience in under 3 hours total.
The standard programme flies from Pokhara airport (30–40 minutes to the Sanctuary landing area), lands at the teahouse area adjacent to the base camp for approximately 20 minutes of mountain viewing and photography, then returns to Pokhara.
