Our Everest helicopter sightseeing tour is a private aerial experience that flies around the Everest region without landing – the ideal option for travellers who want the full aerial perspective of the world's highest mountain but prefer not to deal with the logistics of a landing at extreme altitude. The flight provides exceptional views of the Everest massif from multiple angles as the helicopter circles at 5,500–6,000m altitude, with windows optimised for photography throughout the 90-minute aerial tour.
The sightseeing route typically covers: departure from Kathmandu, eastward flight with views of Gaurishankar (7,134m) and approaching Himalayan terrain, aerial circuit of the Everest–Lhotse–Nuptse massif with close-range views of the Khumbu Icefall, Gokyo Valley and Gokyo Lakes from above, and return to Kathmandu via the southern Everest approach. This is a private charter service – the aircraft and routing are dedicated entirely to your group. Photography assistance and identification of key features available throughout from our experienced Khumbu guides. Best season: October–November and February–April for maximum aerial clarity.
Departure from Kathmandu airport at around 6:00 – 6:30 AM and heads towards the east.
