Hindu Buddhist Pilgrimage Nepal Tour

Nepal's unique religious geography makes a combined Hindu-Buddhist pilgrimage the most natural and comprehensive sacred tour in the country. The two great religious traditions of South Asia have coexisted in Nepal for centuries, sharing sacred sites and overlapping in their iconography. Muktinath Temple, for example, is simultaneously sacred to both traditions. Our combined Hindu-Buddhist pilgrimage tour covers the most significant sacred sites of both faiths.

The programme covers: Pashupatinath (Hindu, Shiva), Lumbini (Buddhist, birthplace of the Buddha), Boudhanath (Buddhist, Tibetan stupa and monastery complex), Swayambhunath (Buddhist, ancient hilltop stupa), Muktinath (Hindu and Buddhist, 3,800m), Janakpur (Hindu, birthplace of Sita), Namobuddha (Buddhist, Bodhisattva story) and Changu Narayan (Hindu, Vishnu, oldest temple in the Kathmandu Valley). Completable in 10–12 days including the Muktinath flight from Pokhara. Extended versions include Gosaikunda lake, Khumbu monasteries via Everest region trekking, and additional Kathmandu Valley sacred sites.

Day to Day Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Nepal [1350m].

Day 02: Visit to Pilgrimage sites; Kathmandu Durbar Square, Pashupatinath and Budhanilkhanta.

Day 03: Transfer to Pokhara, On the way Visit to Manakamana Temple by Cable car.

Day 04: Visit to Barha Temple, Bindyabashini Temple with Gupteshwor Mahadev Darshan.

Day 05: Fly to Bhairahawa and drive to Lumbini.

Day 06: Lumbini Sightseeing tour.

Day 07: Fly back to Kathmandu - visit Boudhanath.

Day 08: Sightseeing of Pharping Monastery.

Day 09: Drive to Dhulikhel and hike to Namobuddha [1750m].

Day 10: Monastery sightseeing tour - hike to Panauti village.

Day 11: Departure from Nepal.
