Lobuche East (6,119m) is one of the more technically demanding of Nepal's commonly attempted trekking peaks – a step up from Island Peak in both altitude and technical challenge. The summit route involves rocky approaches, sections of fixed rope on the upper headwall and a final ridge exposed to wind and weather. The views from the summit – Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Makalu and the full Khumbu panorama – rival any viewpoint in the region.
The Lobuche summit is reached via a high camp at approximately 5,600m, with the summit attempt starting pre-dawn. Our 18-day programme combines the classic EBC acclimatisation route – reaching Kala Patthar and Base Camp before the peak attempt – with a Lobuche East summit bid for those who want to extend the EBC trek into genuine peak climbing territory. Includes: NMA-certified guide, porter, climbing equipment, all meals, teahouse accommodation, all permits, domestic flights. Best season: October–November and April–May. Previous high-altitude experience essential.
