Our Kathmandu–Bardia Tiger short break combines Nepal's cultural capital with its finest tiger habitat in a 6-day programme for serious wildlife enthusiasts who want both heritage and wildlife. Bardia National Park in far western Nepal has Nepal's highest density of Bengal tigers and significantly lower visitor pressure than Chitwan – making it the preferred destination for those who prioritise authentic tiger encounters over logistical convenience.
Days 1–2: Kathmandu. UNESCO heritage sightseeing: Pashupatinath, Boudhanath, Patan and Bhaktapur with licensed guide. Days 3–5: Bardia National Park. Domestic flight from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj (45 minutes), private vehicle to Bardia (2 hours). Three days of comprehensive wildlife safari: morning and afternoon jeep drives in the core zone, Karnali River canoe trip for Gangetic dolphins and birds, jungle walk in tiger territory with armed ranger, Tharu village cultural visit. Bengal tiger, one-horned rhino, wild elephant and swamp deer sightings are all realistic expectations. Day 6: Return to Kathmandu. Fly Nepalgunj to Kathmandu. Optional mountain flight before departure. All flights, jungle lodge accommodation, meals, safari fees and guides included.
