Afternoon at Swayambhunath for the hilltop views and diverse Buddhist iconography. Evening in Thamel for dinner. Day 2: Royal Kathmandu and Patan. Kathmandu Durbar Square with the Kumari Ghar (House of the Living Goddess). Patan for the finest medieval Newari palace architecture in Nepal and the outstanding Patan Museum with its extraordinary metalwork collection. Day 3: Bhaktapur and Changu Narayan. Full morning in Bhaktapur – Nepal's most completely preserved medieval city. Afternoon at Changunarayan – the oldest temple in the valley (4th century AD).
