The Annapurna Base Camp expedition for student groups is one of the finest structured Himalayan challenge programmes available for young travellers – a guided 14-day journey reaching Annapurna Base Camp (4,130m) inside the dramatic Annapurna Sanctuary amphitheatre, combined with cultural learning in the Gurung villages of the Annapurna foothills and educational briefings throughout on Himalayan geology, ecology, cultural anthropology and mountain conservation.
The programme is specifically designed for student groups (minimum age 15 years, good baseline fitness required). Our licensed senior guides have extensive experience in managing student groups at altitude – they adjust the pace to the group's needs, provide constant encouragement and motivation, and ensure the acclimatisation programme is strictly followed to minimise altitude sickness risk. Pre-trek fitness preparation materials and altitude awareness resources are provided to all participants before departure. Post-trek educational debrief and reflection activities are included. For the full trekking route details, see Getaway Nepal's Annapurna Base Camp Trek. Duration: 14 days. Group size: 10–30 students.
