Dashain Festival Tour

Dashain is Nepal's longest, most important and most beloved festival – a 15-day celebration honouring the goddess Durga's triumph over the buffalo demon Mahishasura. Falling in September–October (the 15 days straddling the bright fortnight of the Nepali month of Ashwin), Dashain is the festival when Nepal comes alive most completely: government offices close for over a week, family members return from across the country, the smell of marigold garlands pervades every neighbourhood and the streets fill with kite-flying children, goat sacrifices at the temples and the exchanging of tika (coloured rice blessing) between family members.

Our Dashain Festival Tour immerses visitors in Nepal's most socially significant celebration at its authentic heart. The programme covers Pashupatinath Temple during the peak of animal sacrifice (Maha Navami, the 9th day), the Kumari courtyard during the Living Goddess's tika distribution, the kite-flying culture above Kathmandu's rooftops and the family tika ceremonies visible throughout the old city. Combined with Bhaktapur and Patan heritage sightseeing. Duration: 5 days. Exact dates change annually – contact us for the current year's Dashain dates. Day to Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Nepal.
Welcome to Kathmandu Valley (1360m). Upon Your arrival we assist you from airport tour hotel. Enjoy welcome programs and culture dance at evening. Overnight at hotel.

Day 2: Kathmandu Sightseeing Tourn
Full day sightseeing around Kathmandu valley. Visit famous Pashupatinath, Symanbhunath, and Basantapur Durbar Square etc. overnight at hotel.

Day 3 - 8: Enjoy Festival.
Enjoy Dashain festival. Overnight at home.

Day 9: Free day for relaxation.
Breakfast in the hotel and you will have free time for relaxation. Overnight at hotel.

Day 10: Departure from Nepal.
Half day shopping and city exploration and then final departure. Farewell!!
