Indra Jatra Festival Tour

Indra Jatra is the most spectacular festival of Kathmandu city – a 8-day celebration in September honouring Indra, the king of heaven, that combines the Living Goddess Kumari's public appearance in her golden chariot with the performance of the Mahakali and Kumari masked dances, the display of the enormous Bhairav mask in the Durbar Square and the procession of Kathmandu's three city chariots through the medieval streets. The festival draws the entire population of the old city into the public squares in a community celebration that has continued in the same form for centuries.

Our Indra Jatra tour positions visitors optimally for the Kumari chariot procession – the appearance of the Living Goddess before the public and the President of Nepal is one of the most dramatic ceremonial moments in Nepal's festival calendar. The programme includes the masked dance performances, the Bhairav mask viewing and evening illuminations of the Durbar Square alongside Kathmandu, Patan and Bhaktapur heritage sightseeing. Duration: 5 days. Exact dates change annually with the Nepali lunar calendar. Includes: private cultural guide, all transport, quality accommodation and all entry fees.

Day to Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Nepal.
Welcome to Kathmandu Valley (1360m). Upon Your arrival we assist you from airport tour hotel. Enjoy welcome programs and culture dance at evening. Overnight at hotel.

Day 2: Kathmandu Sightseeing Tourn
Full day sightseeing around Kathmandu valley. Visit famous Pashupatinath, Symanbhunath, and Basantapur Durbar Square etc. overnight at hotel.

Day 3: Enjoy Festival.
Enjoy Indra Jatra Festival in Kathmandu. Overnight at hotel.

Day 4: Free day for relaxation.
Breakfast in the hotel and you will have free time for relaxation. Overnight at hotel.

Day 5: Departure from Nepal.
Half day shopping and city exploration and then final departure. Farewell!!
