Ghalegaun to Begnas Lake Short Hike – 5 Days

The Ghalegaun–Begnas Lake short hike connects a traditional Gurung hilltop village in the Annapurna Conservation Area with the peaceful Begnas Lake on Pokhara's eastern shore – a 5-day route through rhododendron forest, terraced farmland and traditional Gurung communities with consistently good Annapurna mountain views. Ghalegaun (2,092m) is one of the most authentically preserved community tourism villages in Nepal – a flagship homestay programme where Gurung families have been hosting trekkers for over two decades.

Day 1: Drive Pokhara–Besisahar, hike to Ghalegaun (4–5 hours). Overnight homestay with a Gurung family. Day 2: Ghalegaun village exploration, cultural programme and mountain views. Overnight homestay. Day 3: Hike to Ghale Gaun upper viewpoint and begin descent through forest. Day 4: Continue descending through villages to the Begnas Lake shore (4–5 hours). Afternoon boat trip on Begnas Lake. Day 5: Morning birdwatching at Begnas Lake, drive back to Pokhara. Guide, porter, all meals, homestay and teahouse accommodation, ACAP permit included. Best season: October–November and March–May.

Take 45 minutes drive back to Pokhara.

Transfer you to your hotel.
