Kathmandu Valley Short Hike – 3 Days

Three days of guided hiking through the spectacular countryside of the Kathmandu Valley rim, combining forested hill trails, ancient heritage temples and the finest Himalayan sunrise viewpoint accessible from Nepal's capital. The route is carefully sequenced to move from cultural heritage encounter to forest walking to open mountain viewpoint, with each day offering a genuinely different character.

Day 1: Drive to Bhaktapur for morning medieval city exploration. Guided hike through agricultural terraces and pine forest to Changunarayan (UNESCO heritage site, 4th century AD) on the ridge above. Continue along the ridge trail to Nagarkot (2,175m). Overnight at a hilltop hotel. Day 2: Predawn Nagarkot for the Himalayan sunrise panorama. Hike south along the ridge through forest and past small farms to the Dhulikhel viewpoint (1,550m) for eastern Himalayan views. Afternoon optional hike to Namobuddha monastery. Day 3: Morning at Dhulikhel or Namobuddha. Vehicle return to Kathmandu. Guide, porter, all meals, accommodation and all entry fees included.

Day to Day Itinerary

DAY 01:
Morning - an hour drive to Sundarijal.

Start trek to Chisapani village.

It is about 5 hours of walk. Along the way, enjoy mountain view.

Dinner and overnight stay at local lodge.

DAY 02:
Breakfast in the lodge.

Start trek to Nagarkot.

It is about 6 hours of walk through jungle and villages.

Arrive in Nagarkot, enjoy sunset view from hotel.

Dinner and overnight stay in Nagarkot.

DAY 03:
Sunrise view from hotel.

Breakfast in the hotel and start walk to Dhulikhel.

It is about 6 hours of walk.

Arrive in Dhulikhel and drive to Kathmandu. It is about an hour drive.

Arrive in Kathmandu, end of the package.
